Caring for a loved one can be very rewarding but sometimes it is necessary to take a break. Whether taking care of business or indulging in pleasure, everyone needs some ‘me time’ occasionally. George Brooker House offers a regular day care service to clients with or without dementia. This daily service provides peace of mind that relatives are being well looked after while carers get on with their own day.
During their visit, our day guests enjoy the companionship of others and the full support of the dedicated care team. A home-cooked nutritious lunch is included together with regular refreshments throughout the day. The staff organise a varied daily activities programme for the benefit of residents and our day guests.
We are a people centred care home where all residents are cared for with dignity and respect. Friends and family can rest assured that our team are professionally qualified and provide the highest standards of care. Protection of vulnerable adults is a priority and we view it as part of our duty of care.
Guests with dementia are able to participate in mainstream activities at the home, particularly those involving music and art – the benefits of which are well researched and documented. We also use a whole host of proven techniques to encourage interaction, including reminiscence sessions and memorabilia cabinets with gentle reminders of yesteryear. The Dementia Care Team attend an intensive training course accredited by the Alzheimer’s Society that gives guidance in detecting dementia and training on how to deliver appropriate care.

The East London Extra Care Society has provided quality aged care to the community of Dagenham, Essex for over 20 years. Many members of staff are long serving employees of the home, which is a testament to the fact that they are happy in their work and genuinely care about our residents. We invest in a variety of professional training courses to ensure the highest level of quality care for our residents. All of our carers hold NVQ Aged Care qualifications.
We are a charitable organisation that reinvests all of our income into the home. All of our rates are highly competitive and reflect our charity status.
Prospective residents and their families are always welcome to view our home. However, we kindly request that you make an appointment to ensure that a member of staff is available to conduct a tour. Please telephone to make an appointment or contact us here.
